A tourist helicopter crashed in New York City in the Hudson River, killing six

A helicopter crashed to see the city’s landmarks in the Hudson River on Thursday, killing all the six people on board, the latest in a series of accidents in recent months that rocked confidence in the safety of American aviation.

“At this time, all the six victims were removed from the water. Unfortunately, all the six deceased victims were uttered,” the mayor of New York City Eric Adams told a news conference.

City officials said that passengers, including three children, were from Spain. Siemens AG Executive Agustin Escobar was among those who were killed with his wife, three children and the pilot. Escobar, 49, was responsible for the railway infrastructure of the mobility department of the manufacturer.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic helicopter crash in which Agustin Escobar and his family lost their lives,” said Siemens Mobility. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to all our loved ones.”
