Pennsylvania agrees to a decrease in the costs of loss of workers ’compensation by 8.67 %
The Pennsylvania Insurance Department (PID) has agreed to provide workers’ compensation while losing costs by 8.67 %.
New policies or renewal will be subject to or after April 1, 2025 for new loss costs.
Since the loss costs help in determining insurance rates to compensate the workers paid by companies, the reduction will lead to a decrease in insurance premiums for many Pennsylvania state companies.
This cost loss review was submitted by the Pennsylvania Classification Office (PCRB), an independent office that provides files to PID on behalf of the insurance company that writes workers’ compensation insurance in Pennsylvania. About 370 insurance companies provide workers’ compensation insurance coverage in Pennsylvania.
A 7.8 % similar reduction in loss costs was approved last April.
Distinguished savings for individual employers resulting from the low costs lost based on risk classification, the experience of claims and other factors.
